Submitted by Anonimous
that mice should have been given to me!
Submitted by Anonimous
don't worry, it was actually a behringer. and go watching anthem or so on youtube and place your comments there. this is fun :)
Submitted by Anonimous
Ah, the Euro Focus. I wish I could get one of those front bumpers here...
Submitted by Anonimous
this is awesome. im hopefully getting this in the next few days if i get enough money :/
Submitted by Anonimous
Are we having most studio ppl here commanding the SM58?
For the SM58, it has been in the market for more then 40 years. And it even make in Mexico for more 25 years. If you happen to compare this 40 years old mic to an E845(hyper-Cardioid)or even Nuemann KMS1, then the comparison is unfair.
Submitted by Anonimous
That was beer :(:( You have no heart ;(;( joke ;)
That microphone is really good ;D
Submitted by Anonimous
Oh and for the record, SM58's are awesome. And they're built like tanks. My comment only pertains to the actual tests that were run on it... and me not feeling like they're legit tests.
Submitted by Anonimous
safety first! use the right tool for the job, lol
Submitted by Anonimous
ahhaahah they are all swedish you stupid faggot
Submitted by Anonimous
lol
Submitted by Anonimous
That goes beyond any and all reason , I mean what sane person would do such a thing, why ?? Why would anyone waste a beer on a stupid test
Submitted by Anonimous
i ll buy this
Submitted by Anonimous
sennheiser e835s would kill this mic. i have seven of them and have never been let down. i take them everywhere i go because i can't stand sm58s anymore.
Submitted by Anonimous
dude they did it in the video and don't call me a retard
Submitted by Anonimous
na i garantee u its real
Submitted by Anonimous
you guys forgot the jack daniels test..
Submitted by Anonimous
ebay :)
Submitted by Anonimous
I know that SM58 can take some serious ebating but it is quite intriguing that it worked after having it's screen damaged so much and then ran through microwave radiation.
Submitted by Anonimous
Turns out it's pretty hard to unscrew the windscreen once you've ran over the microphone with a car twice. We really did want to open it up to see the inside of it though. However we decided to bury it in the woods instead, a year from now we'll dig it up and see if it still works. My instinct tells me that it'll work just fine ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
Test as a hammer = OK
Test on Beer = OK
Test on water = OK
Smashing it with a car = OK
But why the hell did you test it in a Microwave?
Not even Marylin Manson have thought on that.
Well not even Ozzy Osbourne the king of excess did it. Shame on you.
Submitted by Anonimous
These things have such a simple design using solid materials and they're housed in a very strong metal casing. Those who need proof that it still works obviously don't know how this thing works or what it's made of.
Submitted by Anonimous
Yeah, but the question is... WILL IT BLEND ?
Submitted by Anonimous
i bought it!!
Submitted by Anonimous
One caveat...how come you didn't show the mic after each test recording some audio? I know it could have been faked but it's better than showing us text that says nothing!
Submitted by Anonimous
if you buy it at guitar center its for 99$
Submitted by Anonimous
Very funny
Submitted by Anonimous
Don't tell us you forgot to turn on the video camera, did you?!
Submitted by Anonimous
I know how to destroy it. Just an easier way to wreck it. Set the phantom power on while you have connect it to the preamp...
Submitted by Anonimous
i feel sorry for the mic :(
Submitted by Anonimous
I'm buying one anyway because it is a great mic. This just reassured me that it can handle my habit of throwing it down on the stage ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
When they say it can do nails, they mean the part you hold, LAWLZ!
Submitted by Anonimous
Well after working with them for years and hearing such great reviews along with loving the way they enhance everything. This battering has made me a customer for life.Welcome to the Nightmare !
Submitted by Anonimous
Doesn't mather, it's Heineken... It's shitty beer!
Submitted by Anonimous
You can really get a better sounding mic? For studio recording? Advice?
Submitted by Anonimous
we cant know...
its curious that they dont show if it works or not, specially when shure itself accepted to do this test.
i think its marketing.. the mic cant work "just fine" "with minimum sound quality losts"
Submitted by Anonimous
oops my bad - typo
Submitted by Anonimous
Wow, the background music completely ruined this whole video.
Submitted by Anonimous
youre crazy ;-)
Submitted by Anonimous
As it's about a year since this video was posted. Maybe you guys should go back to the woods, dig up the mic, and see if it still works.
Submitted by Anonimous
fuck these people are dumb instead of ruing it give it to me or someone else instead
Submitted by Anonimous
Dios!
Si aguanto la vara!
Submitted by Anonimous
you can definitely get better sounding mics for that money but none of them is tough like this
Submitted by Anonimous
Well I can certainly believe that a beat up sm58 would still work, but I can't say I'd ever describe even brand new one as sounding great. Yeah, they work and they're tough, but lovely to my ears they are not.
Submitted by Anonimous
I love the way the Shure SM series are so fucking cheap, and yet they are the most durable
Submitted by Anonimous
but it still works
Submitted by Anonimous
i tried microwaving the sm58 i just got and its completely broken...
Submitted by Anonimous
Ok, I can see why you would pour a beer on it, I can see why you would dump it in water, drop it from some heights, dipping it in water,
why the hell did you guys put it in the microwave.
whats wrong with you?
Submitted by Anonimous
Störig bakgrundmusik... Ta bort den!
Submitted by Anonimous
Man, for a while it looked like that nail was gonna fold up like a two-dollar suitcase! Good goin, Jack.
Submitted by Anonimous
shure is the cream
Submitted by Anonimous
if only the SM 58 wireless was as tough,
Submitted by Anonimous
heinenken is shitty beer,no loss there.
Submitted by Anonimous
i want that mic too die!
Submitted by Anonimous
They shoulda show us how much the sound is " That much fine " after all these damages.
Submitted by Anonimous
Bad ass guys! Thanks for making this video and risking your $100+ investment!
Submitted by Anonimous
AHHH! but will it BLEND??!
Submitted by Anonimous
WOW!!!! thats so COOL!!!!!!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
Wow I am definitely getting this!
Submitted by Anonimous
it's a tough microphone!!
Submitted by Anonimous
noooo.....gimme the beer. what a waste....
Submitted by Anonimous
How do you know if it still work fine for real?
Submitted by Anonimous
that beer should have been given to me!
Submitted by Anonimous
Awesome! i got 2 57's and a 58. And they go to hell and back weekly! Great vid!
Submitted by Anonimous
Wow! Great test, just loved when you pour some beer over it! Really awesome music too, have to check them out!
This is a microphone that I should have!! LOL
Submitted by Anonimous
Yeah, it's durable. But as said, it sounds pretty crap and the off-axis frequency response is horrible and causes a hell lot of leaks and feedback. The durability is the only reason why it's so popular, nothing to do with the tone.
Submitted by Anonimous
if you dont like heiniken its because you dont smoke pot, i mean think about it, amsterdam.greenbottle.and the first syllable is pretty much HIGH, alot of stoner appeal. but fuck part of a beer, who wastes a good mic to prove this point even tho they said it still worked, the car messed it up a little bit
Submitted by Anonimous
You see Kids! Thats what happens to people with to much time and money ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
Dude, I'll break it in 2 seconds with a sledgehammer :D
Submitted by Anonimous
What microchips are you talking about? Standard microphones don't do any processing.
Submitted by Anonimous
hahaha good point
Submitted by Anonimous
Why the hell would you use a microphone as a hammer?
Submitted by Anonimous
Im not surprised it survived, the 57 and 58 are built like tanks however the 57 can break with a hit from a drumstick...
I actually didn't expect it to come out of that microwave alive, I thought the wires would short out and fry...
Submitted by Anonimous
lol
Submitted by Anonimous
yeah i know, just asking
Submitted by Anonimous
I guess you like beer huh? ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
my dad is a cop and he beats people with it cause he says its better than his nightstick
Submitted by Anonimous
what a waste of a beer!
Submitted by Anonimous
Either way, it's great to know that, if your private jet goes down in some remote region, that as long as you can salvage the SM58, there's a good chance you can make it out alive.
Submitted by Anonimous
No, this is a myth. This information is taken from Shure's web page: "Any dynamic microphone with a low impedance balanced output, like the SM58, is not affected by phantom power. Phantom Power will not damage a professional dynamic microphone."
Submitted by Anonimous
That mic is DESTROYED HA
it dont work, and if it did after all of THAT.
then I would love to have one
Submitted by Anonimous
simon esta barato pero me graba bien 3w myspace . com / x3danyelx3
Submitted by Anonimous
WAT A WASTE OF BEER
Submitted by Anonimous
DIE SM-58, DIE !!!!
piece of shit mic !
Submitted by Anonimous
Säga vad man vill, men micken är tuff.
Jag har haft min shure sm58 som talkback i 7 år och den har fått härda ut mycket....still working =)
Kul experiment...

Submitted by Anonimous
It's also a bit stupid that you took the time to write that totally boring comment. ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
this is sick :D unbeleavable :D
Submitted by Anonimous
They are great mics, I used them for over 30 years in Rock bands and haven't broken one yet..
Submitted by Anonimous
That is wrong in so many ways lol
Submitted by Anonimous
thats da same thing i was thinking the hole time lol
Submitted by Anonimous
What a waste of a perfectly good
Beer !
Submitted by Anonimous
Ehmmm in the microwave oven. you can't put metal.. Elemental my dear Watson
Submitted by Anonimous
great stuff!
Submitted by Anonimous
in case you wanna hear what the inside of a micro wave sounds like
Submitted by Anonimous
i dont think that one is but i think you can buy cordless ones
Submitted by Anonimous
We figured it would make this video a bit boring. ;) Trust us, it does work.
Submitted by Anonimous
nice mic
Submitted by Anonimous
criticism accepted. . . you could learn something from me
Submitted by Anonimous
it works but not as the first day and not good for recording sure.
Submitted by Anonimous
There is NO micro chips in a dynamic SM58. Its just a few coils of wire and a magnet. Some mics do have active components in them, usually condenser type mics.
Submitted by Anonimous
I just bought mine today.
DUDE's get one.
It will do you justice.
Thats a garauntie.
Submitted by Anonimous
we somehow made it to brake a sm58 by letting it fall from 1.20 meters. it landed on the long side - not on the top - and broke. poor thing ^^
anyway this wasn't something we couldn't fix with gaffa tape :-D
i think especially the beer-test is important for the everyday-life on stage.
Submitted by Anonimous
man i really didnt think it was gonna work after the microwave. thought it would fuck up the magnet.
Submitted by Anonimous
no mmes yo ando ahorrando para comprar un sm58 y tu lo desmadras bien chido xD
Submitted by Anonimous
Dude, there's quite a difference between beer and water on a chemical level. Also, beer tastes better...
Submitted by Anonimous
Oh God, I saw that and though, "you fucking IDIOTS! Are you TRYING to kill yourselves???!?"
Submitted by Anonimous
you probably had a fake... I have one and it works great haha!
Submitted by Anonimous
ni se...... voy a hacer la prueba....DIFICIL DE CREERLO!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
i have it, can't believe it's so tough :O
Submitted by Anonimous
the entire world is going to get nuked, and the only thing people will recover will be the sm58s
Submitted by Anonimous
That's why it's the most popular microphone :D
And now, would someone with a Blentec blender blend it? :D
Submitted by Anonimous
Thanks ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
I can't believe it's jut 99$, it's the all around mic deal ever.
Submitted by Anonimous
We're just a bunch of music gear geeks, do you think you can handle that much coolness Roel?
Submitted by Anonimous
Everyone who's asking about the mic working... they said they posted the soundclips from the test on their site linked in the video description? Maybe you could check that out?
Submitted by Anonimous
i have SHURE SM58..it's really good mic and the toughest mic too..it fall like a milion times..no sound difference..great old school microphone!!
Submitted by Anonimous
Of course. And I personally love 57, still the best snare mic there is. Even 58 will do sometimes in a studio but for live it's POS because of the off-axis response and feedback. Naturally you don't have feedback problems in studio.
Submitted by Anonimous
wouldnt it melt?
Submitted by Anonimous
Great video, but please get rid of the HORRID soundtrack. This test is about sound, i would have loved to hear the actual test results.
Submitted by Anonimous
this is scary if u read this this far u will die in 10 days if u dont send to any 15 videos in 2 hours good luck hope u dont die !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
So, did the 58 confess after all that?
Submitted by Anonimous
One HOT mic.... especially after the microwave... hehe!
Submitted by Anonimous
I understand why they would put it in a microwave.
But c'mon WHO would accidentally put their mic in a microwave??
Nice mic btw its tough!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
haha... God's not on your side I guess... I play Christian unBlack metal... God protects my microphone from evil!! xD
Submitted by Anonimous
YOU ASSHOLES!! =P
Sm58 ftw, a reliable friend :D
Submitted by Anonimous
just pop the fucked up windscreen off there and use it as an sm-57
Submitted by Anonimous
Get an OM2 then you won't have to replace the windscreen.
Submitted by Anonimous
Effing AWESOME!!!!
ESACTLY WHY I BOUGHT AN SM-58.
Submitted by Anonimous
Shure SM-58 4ever !!! The great mic!!!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
What a waste of beer :(
Submitted by Anonimous
Hahahaha. It's strong as hell! (This video hurt me a little xD). I've just bought an
sm57, hope it's as strong as it's brother.
Submitted by Anonimous
What is broken, the microwave? Buy a new one :)
The SM 58??? Send it up to SHURE, you`ll get a new one for free ;-)
Submitted by Anonimous
Submitted by Anonimous
I never particularly liked the sound of the SM58, but this is both hilarious and one hell of a sales pitch.
Submitted by Anonimous
i no im not retarded ive taken chem and physics!
but i meant like it couldve exploded and killed them haha
Submitted by Anonimous
dud eit should have fried in the microwave becasue the microwave sends electromagnetic waves that destroy micro chips , but the food inside may have saved the microphone becasue the waves automatically whent to the moister of the food , also w/o the food the mic would have sparked and whent up in flames
Submitted by Anonimous
i think this vid is awsome,i just bought a new sm58 for £80.00(GB)
Submitted by Anonimous
ahhahahaha, totally
Submitted by Anonimous
I've been fronting bands for 27 years, and I've owned 12 types of mics. An Audio Technica Pro 4 H, and a Shure SM58. The Shure rules the roost...NOTHING performs better!!!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
My shure mic rep told me about this video. Why hang em at dawn? or give it away? thats what these god sent mics were made for. GOD BLESS THIS MICROPHONE! amazing. and cheers for trying to kill it
Submitted by Anonimous
Jackasseesss,,,,,I want a mic like this and I ain't got money ,,, you're freaking trashing it
Submitted by Anonimous
you could just record a second vid where you show that the mic still works
Submitted by Anonimous
my sm58 doesnt work
the wires have come apart inside..... all it needs is soldering tho! :)
Submitted by Anonimous
It's actually really hard to hurt dynamic mics... You could do the same with sennheiser, audix, akg, AT, and EV mics with pretty much the same result. Just don't try it with condensors.
The 58 is your "basic" stage vocal mic, but there are definitely a lot better sounding mics that are just as tough. Audix's OM6 and 7, and Senn's e835, e845, e935, and e945 are my top picks. I have no qualms about using a 58 when I hit a new venue or sound crew, but I'd much rather have my OM7 or e945.
Submitted by Anonimous
Yes the sm58 would make an excellent hammer!!
Submitted by Anonimous
So, this one is ready for the gig tonight?
Submitted by Anonimous
wow tough as
Submitted by Anonimous
...did you just dump a perfectly good beer down the drain..?
Submitted by Anonimous
es una vil mentira no aguntan esa pruebas los microfonos sm-58, y pudiera ser que funcionen pero pierden bastante fidelidad con el simple hecho de mojarse o golpearse a otro perro con ese hueso
Submitted by Anonimous
It hurts me to watch this vid XD
Submitted by Anonimous
Maybe it would be better if you've had demonstrated after each experiment that the SM 58 still works fine ;-)
Submitted by Anonimous
and waste of a mic :(
Submitted by Anonimous
Rivals an EV 635A in durability! Repeated shock is the worst enemy of any dynamic mic tho. For technical reasons I shall not delve into here.....
Submitted by Anonimous
iv always thought someone should do something lyk this with an sm58 but watching it makes it seem stupid that anyone has the time to do it!
Submitted by Anonimous
Cubase 4.
Submitted by Anonimous
är det majken i början?
Submitted by Anonimous
Dude flytallerkin waht are you talking about?
I got mine brand new for 100 bucks.
And MrJayfriett, tell me why you can't stand the sm58s anymore? did yours break or something?
Submitted by Anonimous
Doesn't seem like a good hammer...
Submitted by Anonimous
you can't just say "the mic still works fine"... Show us...
Submitted by Anonimous
i work on the stage, many years, i knows shure microphones, peavey, akg, rode, neumann...... are the same, DO NOT HIT TO THE GROUND or like
Submitted by Anonimous
idiot llama
Submitted by Anonimous
actually this is the real factory test
Submitted by Anonimous
no way that not work
Submitted by Anonimous
would'nt it blow up in the microwave?
Submitted by Anonimous
video would be better if you took off the annoying background music.
Submitted by Anonimous
show the fucking mick workingg!!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
I love my mic :)
Submitted by Anonimous
how dare you! you wasted a perfectly good beer over a microphone! :P great job guys, the sm58 is a great mic.
Submitted by Anonimous
Well on my first death metal show i dropped it and it broke. So now i use it as a target aND something to throw when i get pissed
Submitted by Anonimous
who are to waste some beer ????? stupid guy !
Submitted by Anonimous
I'm terribly upset by the alcohol abuse at
3:55
Submitted by Anonimous
Except, in studio's even with large stocks of condensers, it still ends up used on guitar cabs, snares and even some vocals. It's lo-fi & there are lots of "better" dynamics around, but the 57/8 still gets used - for the sound.
Of course, if you're using it inappropriately, it will sound like a POS.
Submitted by Anonimous
this is lame.
Submitted by Anonimous
there weak microphones on stage - make ur voice dull even brand new one - betas are well more advanced
Submitted by Anonimous
FAKE
Submitted by Anonimous
thats a weird microwave, this mic. is only about $100 so i think imight save up to buy it. does anybody know how well it sounds with screams like the devil wears prada, bring me the horizon, and alesana and that sorta thing? or does it not matter?
Submitted by Anonimous
this mic is shit i dropped it once and it stopped working but my $30 mic i got from the guitar shop i throw at shit and it works fine
Submitted by Anonimous
I bet it doesn't work:P prove me wrong?
Submitted by Anonimous
Hah thats awesome. I love my sm-58! Shure all the way!
Submitted by Anonimous
Cool video but that metal rock shit was not nice.
Submitted by Anonimous
The poor microphone :( I just bought one!

they should be hung at dawn for such a crime!
Submitted by Anonimous
yeah cool, it's indestructible - but sounds like shit.
Submitted by Anonimous
dudes . u better give me that for free !
U kill the mic !
Submitted by Anonimous
i thought the car or the water would have done it
Submitted by Anonimous
The quality of the sound that you get using an SM58 all depends on the source, because, like every microphone, their dynamic range is limited. Also, depending on how much torture they've been through, the diaphragm's character could be altered. Still and all, I love how these things can even withstand having phantom power turned on while they're still plugged in. Warriors among microphones, I say!
Submitted by Anonimous
Submitted by Anonimous
I feel sad for that mic, it went through hell lolz,
Submitted by Anonimous
nahh its not bullshit they are pretty much indistructable lol there have been stages made at festivals where the sm58 have been used to put nails into the wood to make the stage then they were used by the performing bands
Submitted by Anonimous
Getting it ready for Ebay.
Submitted by Anonimous
DAMN! you wasted a bottle of beer!
cheers!
Submitted by Anonimous
Toasted cheese 58 :D
Submitted by Anonimous
you've got a wierd microwave
Submitted by Anonimous
lol i have the same freezer
Submitted by Anonimous
how do you know it is still working. they dont tel you.
Submitted by Anonimous
I used a Shure sm58 for 2 years in a road-warrior live act and that 58 withstood everything I could give it. A constant barrage of beer, whiskey, cigarette smoke, spit, and the occasional slip while Roger Daltry'ing the the thing. That SM quit working after 2 years because it got thrown out the bus window at 75mph in Fort Collins, Colorado. It still worked, it just didn't sounds nearly as good as before. I believe every bit of this video.
Submitted by Anonimous
wow. i've known people that have had these for over 25 years (schools, friend's dads/granddads) and they work great. i used a really beaten up looking one where you can't really tell if it was silver or black and the grill was almost a triangle... and it sounded great. this just proves that sm58s are the way to go.
Submitted by Anonimous
Almost everyone I know says that this is, in fact, the best in microphones.
Submitted by Anonimous
VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!! Thanks for the great work, no doubt is rock solid!
Submitted by Anonimous
the interesting thing would've been to do these things to the sm58's competitors. or to hear the final sound at the end in comparison to the sound at the start. so we just could watch the mic gettin more crumpled
Submitted by Anonimous
that was painful to watch!! (both with the microphone and wasted beer). impressive though.
Submitted by Anonimous
Just purchased one & it cost me $126.00 but after seeing this video, I feel better. The sound quality is far better than ordinary microphone I ever used... It's an investment!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
The issue I have with this video is that most of the physical damage went straight toward the grill. Which isn't actually a part of the mic that will stop working. The liquid damage is the only credible tests that were demonstrated here, and hardly that either. I had a Nady StarPower fall out of a gig bag one day and was completely submerged in water and took a pretty sweet dent to the side of it... Next day, after it dried, it worked perfectly. The casing was cracked though.
Submitted by Anonimous
This is good to know. Our singer just bought one of these ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
q manera de desperdiciar una birra!!
Submitted by Anonimous
I would believe it. I own about 4 of those mics and they're dropped all the time. They failed to show the after part of the mics audio after all those tests. But, in my career in audio production, no mic that I know of (even the SM58) could withstand water. The cardioid capsule in there is NOT capable of such abuse. The windscreen can hold a bit, but not a dunk like that. Not unless you can prove me over wise. Until then I know that the mic can withstand anything but water in my experience.
Submitted by Anonimous
they are bloody gud mics wen u ran over it the minor sound difference was the diaphram getting crushed so it's not quite circle but i'd use it
Submitted by Anonimous
Two words-
Mic abuse.
That thing got run over by a car, WHAT?
Submitted by Anonimous
When you'll finish say it to tidningenstudio
Submitted by Anonimous
cool video but the music sucked
Submitted by Anonimous
We will make that clip in one year´s time, please return then. The mic is actually buried in the ground as a last trial. :)
Submitted by Anonimous
fucking crazy hahahaha
gringo de mierda como tiras a la basura los pobres micros !
mas bien regalame uno basuraaaaa
Submitted by Anonimous
Actually, I'd be curious to see a test done with the original hammer microphone; the Electrovoice 666. I think I remember ads showing the 666 pounding nails.
Submitted by Anonimous
You know, think of all those cars stupid Americans break to force car company's to pass the crash safety requirements in the US.
End result is safer cars. Plus, I am rather impressed at this microphone, so it sold me a mic. Without the vid I'd likely not purchased this mic, but need one that can take abuse. But, then I'm a stupid American.
Submitted by Anonimous
Strange because since there's nearly no fluid inside a mic it shouldn't become that hot in a microwave oven.
Submitted by Anonimous
you must think your'e pretty cool, don"t you?
Submitted by Anonimous
that is the the mic that i need, 1 that can go through he!! lol
Submitted by Anonimous
anyone know if you can get replacment heads?
Submitted by Anonimous
LMFAOOO good one lol
Submitted by Anonimous
what???
Submitted by Anonimous
LMAO
Submitted by Anonimous
I just bought an SM58 just waiting for it to arrive. Can't wait till band practice!!!!!!!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
this has to be complete bullshit lol
Submitted by Anonimous
I agree with you. Well said. I have used a couple of times the shure 58 or the 57 for voices instead of the condensers and I haven't regretted it at all. It all depends your personal expectations... All microphones are good if you know how to use them, even the sehneizer.
Submitted by Anonimous
i've worked with this mic and it truly is indistructible. also SM57, had one of those drouned in claranet spit and it's fine a-ok!
Submitted by Anonimous
o mikrofon yarramı çalışır amına goyum biz alamıyoz millet yaptıgına bak anasına soksun o mici
Submitted by Anonimous
wow at
3:50, what a waste of beer! no just kidding, but i have a shure sm58, and i love it!
Submitted by Anonimous
how do we know it still works
Submitted by Anonimous
The metal casing actually gets mis-shapen surprisingly easily.
Submitted by Anonimous
This video seems to be demonstrating that they dont really know what a micophone really is. Anyone can bust up some metal cage. They are just bashing up the windscreen, I would be impressed if they did it with a SM57 or took it off. The freezing has no effect because its tested to -20.
Amazing vocal mic thourgh right?
Submitted by Anonimous
äcklig frys :S
Submitted by Anonimous
So I take that after the world's total destruction the shure 58 will remain unbreakable... You cannot destroy it.
p.s It beats Sennheiser...
Submitted by Anonimous
what was the point of the beer? they already dunked it in water.
Submitted by Anonimous
i got an idea!
why you try and smash it with sludgehammer
Submitted by Anonimous
i had mine for 12 years now. lord knows how long my dad had it b4 i took it from him.
Submitted by Anonimous
your stupid
Submitted by Anonimous
They just do shit to the mic which would barely happen in real circumstanses
and where is the proof that the mic still works?
Why din't they change the windscreen?
I think they have too much money
Submitted by Anonimous
Lol your willing to waiste 200 bucks?
Shure is expensive people - their cheapest earbuds are 120 bucks
Submitted by Anonimous
I wonder in which scenario you could forget your microphone in a microwave oven ;O
Submitted by Anonimous
The other important thing to remember is that this microphone is also one of the most versatile, best-sounding mics, both live and in the studio. Like Velveeta, it's one of those perfect products that will never need an updated design.
Submitted by Anonimous
How Do You Know It Still Works?
It Dont Show You After Every Demonstration.....Stupid An A Waste Of Time!
Submitted by Anonimous
got my sm58 in the post today! still not used it though.
Submitted by Anonimous
woow,It is unbleiveble!COOL!!!
Submitted by Anonimous
ahh the old switcheroo...dunk SM 58 #1 into water, let the basket dry off, switch it with the basket of SM 58#2 and then test SM 58 #2.

Maybe if you didn't have a hammer?
Submitted by Anonimous
dude i highly doubt that it still worked
Submitted by Anonimous
...really...u destroyed a mic..."wasted a beer" (my god i was crying)...and wasted ur time...anyway shure's mics are cool ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
It's in no way fake. The test was done by a serious studio recording magazine.
Not saying that you shouldn't be careful with your mices though. But this is just to prove that the SM58 can take a lot of beating.

Submitted by Anonimous
that's a damn tough mic
Submitted by Anonimous
Duh, cause of the shape of the mic it's most likely to fall with its windscreen facing down. And this video demonstrates that that shure sure can take such falls :)
Submitted by Anonimous
It's not like im gonna build house with it... but sure is one hell of a mic...
Submitted by Anonimous

Submitted by Anonimous
Gimme that Mic bitch.
Submitted by Anonimous
That's incredible that it stands up to liquid abuse!
I mean it makes sense, since singers are bound to slather spit all over it some point or another...But Still!
Submitted by Anonimous
athe0s, for shame, if you can't get a good sound from a 58 you need to practice
Submitted by Anonimous
WOOW
Submitted by Anonimous
the background music kinda annnoy me
Submitted by Anonimous
I agree with that xD
Submitted by Anonimous
i bet if that nail went through the pop guard and into the diaphragm, the mic would be screwed. In saying that, these mics are awesome. Working at a rehearsal studio definitely puts your faith in SM58's. People treat them like shit, but they just keep working.

(Bangs an SM-58 on the counter).
*Thud! Thud!*
Hear Here!
I wanna see it bust up a blendtek, I reckon it would if you threw it in plug end first.. If it doesnt, they should make a blendproof SM-59... ...maybe write B L E N D P R O O F in a fast looking font down the side... 'n maybe like with flames n stuff too. :)

Submitted by Anonimous
huh... i don't know, but mine has gone with me through thick and thin and it has proven itself worthy in black/death metal shows over and over again ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
That was a disappointing ending; they didn't show the mic plugged in and working. What, we just have to take their word for it? Lame.
Submitted by Anonimous
I buried mine in 79 feet of concrete for 3 years, dug it up, chucked it off a clif, shoved up my arse and finally resorted to beating my neighbour to death with it. Sill works just fine!
Submitted by Anonimous
Um the SM58 is only $100...
Submitted by Anonimous
The mike is fine but the music is terrible!
Submitted by Anonimous
that's just wrong man. you DO NOT waste beer on a mundane experiment. you do not waste beer EVER. who in the right mind pours beer down the sink?
good video by the way. -1 star for beer wastage. so SM58!!
Submitted by Anonimous
Well Heineken might be 'ass beer', but to call it good is a gigantic overstatement by any standard.
Submitted by Anonimous
Wow- all that can happen to my mic and it'll still work. .haha SWEET!!
Submitted by Anonimous
is this SM58 cordless
Submitted by Anonimous
Sorry pretietstar, phantom makes no difference to a dynamic mic (except for a few ribbons)
Submitted by Anonimous
Lol, how can we sure the mic worked just fine after each test?
Submitted by Anonimous
I don't believe this. You drowned it in Heineken and it still works fine? :-O
