Yes, Satenai is Circasian. Kabardinian to be more specific, This explains why her Russian is a bit different than someone from,say, Moscow. She is from Nalchik which is in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. This republic is a part of the Russian Federation. It is located right in the hearte of the Kavkas. Nalchik is about a one hour drive southwest of Mineralnyavode. In fact the hotel in which I first heard Sati sing is called the Grand Kavkas Hotel, also in Nalchik.
