Oh my goodness! Is all Victory Day like this? If that's the case, this is not only a patriotic event, but also a high quality music festival.
Considering by the good music and the flags it would remind a kind of Russian Proms.

Had it not been for the efforts of people like your grandfathers, not only would you not be free, but the whole world as well.
Submitted by Anonimous
Не обязательно. Тут по-моему просто не синхронизирован звук к картинке - на протяжении всей записи ртом двигает не в слова - и хор тоже.

Is there any russian here to translate this song or to tell us what it says about?

Неплохо поет... громко.
Но... когда поют Певцы... паяцам след в стороночке курить. Гламурные цыгарки.
Коля, послушай Сергея Зыкова и покури. Про Хвороста... промолчу.

it's terrible that nobody actually speak about Poles and their role in the WW2. Friends from France, sorry, but it's more than hilarious joke to hear that you were one of the powers of Allies equal do England or States.
Song - beautiful.

"All the world would not be like it is". The world is pretty fucked up at the moment, so I don't understand what you mean by that.
Let's just forget the politics and the bullshit propaganda and just enjoy this beautiful song.

The song is basically about a guy, who's fallen in love with this girl, but when the Second World War starts she goes off to be a partisan. He only meets her later - when serving. There isn't really a conclusion.

How can we not honour them? If it weren't for them, many of us might not be alive today. They gave their lives to save us, to save the country. Victory day is a really big deal in Russia and many of the other countries of the former USSR.

Of course, Victory Day is like that, and not only in Russia but here in Ukraine, in Belarus, Moldova, etc Over 20 million people of the former USSR fell fighting Nazis and destrying 85% of their army here, in the eastern front. Both my grandfathers fought in that war and if it hadn't been for them and peoploe like them, we woldn't have lived as a free nation, we simply wouldn't live.

The emphasis of the song is on the beauty of the young age. Although the song is very cheerfull, it has a tragic meaning - it contrasts the beauty of the young age, love and the horror of war. It signifies how useless and pointless war is for regular people.
Submitted by Anonimous
Hes singing how one summer day he fell in love with a moldovian girl. i tried my best ;)
Submitted by Anonimous
I agree with you! However, I would change 'Russian' soldiers, for 'Soviet' soldiers. There were many other nationalities that made up a very significant minority among the russians in the soviet army.
Submitted by Anonimous
What a great & beautiful voice !

cat de mare diferenta de valoare intre BASKOV si manelistii romani !!!!!
